27 out of 30 years of Christmases, I have had a live Christmas tree that has been cut down by someone adjacent to me. I am dedicated to having one even though I have allergies. Beau loves coming with to help pick one out. This is the first year in our house, and I picked the chonkiest, tallest tree possible. IT'S HUGE!!!
There are two kinds of people. Those who are right and start enjoying Christmas on November 1st. And those who are wrong and wait until after Thanksgiving. This year sucks, but I'm doing my best to indulge in the season.
It's been one hell of a fucked up year, and I'm scared 2021 likes a dare. I've been doing my best to avoid confronting all the things this year has brought to the table.
I had a lot of plans for the last half of October. It was mostly: Get Shit Done. But I decided several months ago to apply to work the election. It went on the schedule. A few days a week turned into half of everyday for all of early voting. Yay! I'm doing my civic duty, but nothing else is going to happen in my life until the election is over.
Fall in the South is less about the changing of seasons and more about the mindset. Nothing puts me in the fall mood more than food and drinks, so here are my favorites and a yummy bean salad recipe.
Last week, I focused on the shit things in my life, but I'm trying to be optimistic this week. Even if it's just for the sake of my six dogs, I'm going to ooze positivity dammit!!!
