I got to visit Vienna last month. No, I didn't make it to Europe. My Vienna is in Iowa with my best friend. She's in one of eight perfect homes nine of my thirteen puppies found. They are living their best lives, and I couldn't be happier for them.

On Monday, August 10, 2020 a storm swept across the Midwest causing $4 billion in damages that will have economic effects felt around the world. Hundreds of thousands of people were affected, but national media hardly said a word. Iowans have been left behind to pick up, rebuild, find a way through, and wonder why the world didn't care.

Heartworm Journey 2.1

Tess has been a trooper and kept her smile and pep over the last few days as she's recovering from her first heartworm shot. We found out she was heartworm positive immediately, but we weren't able to start treating it until two months ago once she had the puppies, weaned them, and gained strength and weight.

Toxicity in Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game

The entire premise of The Hating Game by Sally Thorne rides on the back of the kindergarten playground advice given to young girls: “He’s mean to you because he likes you.” I don't get why people love this book. At best it's problematic; at worst, it's toxic.
