Pride 2020 has largely gone under the radar because we've been fighting and protesting for Black lives. Pride is still important. Even though the Pride Parade was canceled in Houston and many other places, we put on our own! Much to the amusement of our neighbors.
The world has gone to shit... Kidding. The world has always been shit becaus systemic racism is real and has always been real, but the world is finally starting to wake up to it. COVID is making the world a worse place, so I'm thinking about things that bring me joy tonight. Like carousels. I fucking love carousels. So. Damn. Much.
The last three months have been insane for everyone because of COVID, but my life has been crazy because of the swarm... or the puppies. I have missed lots of things, but it has been worth it.
Raising thirteen puppies has been one of the most demanding experiences of my life. It has taken a toll on my body and my mind. I wouldn't trade these past two months for anything in the world; even though, I knew from the moment we decided to keep a very pregnant Tess, it would break my heart into thirteen pieces.
Other than being homeless and jobless... My quarantine has been filled with a lot of happiness and puppy cuddles. It's kind of a mess, but that's life.
I love the puppies with all my heart. I do not regret adopting Tess and bringing all thirteen puppies into my life. But don't let Instagram fool you; my quaranteam is not bliss. It's heaven if heaven were coated in poo, tears, and exhaustion.
