I asked Kelsey what to write today. She told me to write "11 reasons I have the best friend ever." So here we are.

We Bought a House for Our Dogs
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE FOR OUR DOGS!!! I'm not kidding. We did buy a house, and a big part of why and which one was based on the dogs. It was an absolute disaster of an experience. If I never ever, ever, every buy a house again ever, that would be too soon. Nothing went as planned. I was homeless and stranded in Iowa for awhile. I LOVED our realtor, and she was literally the only good thing in this experience. I'm so glad the last seven months are over, and that we're in the house instead of living under an underpass.
11… Ways to Be a Better Antiracist
This is obviously a list by a white lady with white privilege on her own imperfect and perpetual journey to being antiracist. But I am trying. There are better lists out there, but here's mine. A little of my own experiences and a lot of make room for BIPOC.
Pride 2020
Pride 2020 has largely gone under the radar because we've been fighting and protesting for Black lives. Pride is still important. Even though the Pride Parade was canceled in Houston and many other places, we put on our own! Much to the amusement of our neighbors.
11… Joy Bringers
The world has gone to shit... Kidding. The world has always been shit becaus systemic racism is real and has always been real, but the world is finally starting to wake up to it. COVID is making the world a worse place, so I'm thinking about things that bring me joy tonight. Like carousels. I fucking love carousels. So. Damn. Much.
Anna of Kleve by Alison Weir
I don't like historical fiction because history is so interesting it doesn't need to be changed, but writers are constantly changing history... Alison Weir is a popular historian, so she writes better historical fiction than the vast majority out there. In her latest, she explores the oft overlooked fourth wife of Henry VIII and a possible secret love child.
