Amanda fulfilled my lifelong dream of planning a trip for me. We went to Fredericksburg for a three day weekend, and I think I'm gonna drag her on a lot of trips from now on.
Three Years and A Sweet Cup
It's been three years since I moved to Houston. I was incredibly poor, and the only thing I could afford was gelato, so I found Sweet Cup Gelato. To this day, it still tastes like Houston to me.
Home for Erring and Outcast Girls by Julie Kibler
I was utterly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Julie Kibler captured my interest and respect with her cutting and insightful novel.
Calm Office
If I'm not binging Netflix or cooking, I'm in my office with Beau, so it has to be great for both of us. I got the best compliment about it the other day: It's so calm.
The Dollhouse by Fiona Davis
Davis had a nice novel until the last five pages when she throws a it in the toilet. The ending comes quickly and suddenly. It’s as if her editor asked her to wrap everything up with a nice bow. It was saccharine and a little vomit inducing how spoonfed the ending was. Otherwise, it's a nice story combining a mystery with a touch of love and a lot of independent women searching for belonging.Â
Lake Tahoe Travel Guide
Lake Tahoe is one of those places that speaks to my soul and lets it breath. I was not there for very long, but it's a place I keep returning to in my dreams.
